Gigi Woodall・LMFT
Welcome! I'm Gigi, a Denver trauma therapist with a deep passion for mental health and helping people improve their quality of life. My goal is to help you understand the different parts of yourself that have developed to protect you so you can move through life with more ease and compassion.
Together, we’ll explore how early experiences, relationships, and environmental influences shaped your self-narratives — challenging them so you can discover your truth and lean into your authenticity and intuition.
My journey started in the nonprofit world with organizations like the National Eating Disorders Association, Project HEAL, and the One Love Foundation. After working at an eating disorder treatment center, I transitioned to private practice.
I'm also a proud Denver chapter member of the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP), locally involved with the Eating Disorder Foundation, and am on my way to becoming a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS). I'm so excited to support you on your path to healing and self-discovery.

There are many ways to heal. I connect with systemic and mind-body approaches described below, and value bringing these modalities to support your goals in our work together.
Internal Family Systems Informed Practice
Internal Family Systems is a somatic approach that honors and befriends the different “parts” of ourselves in a compassionate way. This model stems from the idea that we have an “internal system” of protective and wounded parts that serve crucial roles in our lives. Sometimes, these protective parts may show up as eating disorders or inner-critics, for example. Other times, these protective parts may show up as perfectionistic tendencies or people-pleasers. Once we begin to understand and extend compassion to these parts, they will begin to trust us more, and over time let go of their behaviors, thoughts, and roles in our lives. Internal Family Systems is incredibly transformative, and is especially helpful for trauma, PTSD, eating disorders, shame, guilt, and attachment wounds.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative Therapy is a powerful approach that focuses on societal, familial, and cultural messages told throughout our lives. This model empowers individuals to re-examine the messaging they’ve received to challenge specific narratives and reclaim their truths. Narrative therapy is a gentle approach to deconstructing messages that may have been traumatic or harmful in childhood, or in other relationships as an adult.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy
(EMDR)EMDR uses bilateral stimulation to alleviate distress and symptoms of PTSD. This is a specific, somatic protocol that targets traumatic experiences. EMDR is shown to be a highly effective model for healing, especially for those who feel like past trauma is impacting their day to day. EMDR also focuses on improving self-worth by providing space to create new narratives about ourselves and our experiences.

Therapy for Trauma
Trauma comes in many forms and affects all walks of life. PTSD develops in response to the traumatic event(s) themselves. Whether you have experienced a single-event trauma, or complex trauma—such as recurring trauma in childhood or other relational wounds—we will work together to decrease everyday symptoms and create more space to move forward in a fulfilling way.
Therapy for Teens
Adolescence comes with its own set of many unique challenges, and tends to be a developmentally vulnerable time. From extensive training in family systems and experience working in residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care, I will support your teen and family towards overall improved mental health and wellbeing.
Therapy for Disordered Eating and Body image
If you find yourself trying to navigate through rigid food restriction, obsessive calorie counting, on-and-off dieting, and feeling out of control around food, these challenges can be exhausting and all consuming. Through mind-body modalities, I will help you heal your relationship with food, and feel more confident and compassionate in your body.
Attachment Style Therapy
Understanding our attachment style can serve as a critical point for healing. If you are looking to gain insight into how early experiences have shaped how you show up in relationships as an adult, then attachment-based therapy might be a great fit for you.
ThErapy for young adults
Young adulthood is an especially formative time; Whether you are deciding on a career path, are on your own and independent for the first time, or finally have space to work on yourself, everyday stressors can add up and become taxing. Through a values-based approach and narrative lens, my goal is to empower you to lean into and discover your true self.
Somatic-Based TherapY
Somatic based therapy provides an opportunity for an incredibly meaningful path toward healing. If you have tried more traditional talk therapies in the past and are ready for something deeper, I offer somatic and mind-body modalities, such as EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy.
